Expedition Project Guide
60-day preparation cycle, seasonal wipes, and permanent rewards explained.
The Expedition system is Arc Raiders seasonal progression framework. Each Expedition runs for approximately 60 days and defines the competitive season structure for the game.
At the start of an Expedition, all players begin from a standardized baseline. Previous season gear and currency do not carry over, but certain permanent rewards and progression milestones do.
The Expedition creates a fresh competitive environment where all players have an equal starting point, making each season feel distinct and allowing newer players to compete on equal footing with veterans.
Tips
- +Treat each Expedition as a fresh start with accumulated knowledge -- your skill carries over even when your gear resets
- +Read the Expedition objectives early in the season to plan your priority targets
The preparation cycle begins two weeks before the Expedition officially launches, giving players time to organize and plan their approach.
During the preparation cycle, the trader stores information about the upcoming season changes, new content, and seasonal modifiers. Visiting traders during this window gives you an early information advantage.
The active Expedition phase lasts approximately 60 days, followed by a one-week wind-down period where no new progression milestones are added.
Tips
- +The wind-down week is the best time to farm resources because fewer players are active and competition is lower
- +Start planning your Expedition goals during the preparation cycle -- do not waste the first days of the active season figuring out what to do
Not all Expedition rewards disappear at the end of the season. Permanent rewards -- including unlocked weapon blueprints, armor schematics, and progression milestones -- carry forward to subsequent Expeditions.
Seasonal rewards are cosmetics and temporary advantages that only apply within the current Expedition. These include seasonal skins, banners, and temporary XP multipliers.
The most valuable permanent rewards are weapon unlocks and progression milestones that make future Expeditions significantly easier to complete.
Tips
- +Prioritize permanent rewards over cosmetic ones -- the long-term progression advantage compounds across Expeditions
- +Track which rewards are permanent versus seasonal so you do not waste effort on things that will disappear
A seasonal wipe resets your currency, equipment stash, and active loadouts. Your character level, unlocked traders, and permanent progression milestones do not reset.
Weapon blueprints and armor schematics you have unlocked remain accessible after the wipe, meaning your crafting capabilities survive intact.
Understanding exactly what resets and what stays is critical for managing your pre-wipe strategy. You want to extract maximum value from your current season investments without sacrificing permanent progress.
Tips
- +Sell high-value loot in the final week of the Expedition -- do not enter the wipe with a full stash of equipment you cannot use
- +Hold onto crafting materials and rare blueprints -- these become significantly more valuable at the start of a new Expedition
The Raider Deck system is Arc Raiders Battle Pass equivalent. Each Deck contains tiers of rewards that are unlocked by completing in-game activities and accumulating experience.
Decks have both free and premium tracks. Free track rewards include basic materials, currency, and common equipment. Premium track adds cosmetics, exclusive weapon skins, and rare crafting materials.
The most efficient way to progress through a Raider Deck is to focus on activities that align with your regular play. Do not change your playstyle to complete Deck challenges -- find Deck progress in how you already play.
Tips
- +Prioritize Deck tiers that contain permanent unlocks (blueprints, schematics) over cosmetic-only rewards
- +Premium Deck upgrades are most cost-effective when purchased in the first week of the Expedition, when the time-to-completion math is most favorable
Trials are the primary long-term challenge system in Arc Raiders. Each Trial has a specific objective that must be completed across multiple raids.
Completing Trials rewards permanent progression milestones and access to gated content. Many Trials are intentionally difficult and require significant preparation.
Feats are one-time achievements that reward persistent players with permanent bonuses. Unlike Trials, Feats do not require a specific activity pattern -- just continued play.
Tips
- +Some Trials have hidden objectives that are not announced -- pay attention to subtle in-game cues and community discoveries
- +Feats should not be rushed. They are designed to be unlocked naturally over an active season of play
Arc Raiders has an active player-driven economy where materials change hands for currency and sometimes for direct barter. Understanding this economy is valuable because it gives you exit options for materials you do not need.
The basic material market is high-volume and low-margin. Metal Parts, Fabric, Plastic Parts, Rubber Parts, and Wire trade constantly, and prices are relatively stable.
Processor and ARC Circuitry are consistently the most valuable farming targets. Processor is bottlenecked by the Wire and Plastic Part inputs required for Refiner conversion, meaning supply is always somewhat constrained relative to demand.
Explosives Components have an unusual value profile: they are constantly consumed because grenade-based playstyles are popular and effective, but they are never hoarded by most players.
Tips
- +Processor is the single best material to farm if you want consistent high-value sales -- Wire sources are always worth clearing
- +If you are not running an explosives build, sell every Explosives Component you find -- demand from players who do is always active
- +ARC Circuitry is worth more to your progression than its market price suggests -- factor in the crafting value before selling
